Comprehending The Trinity can be pretty darn confusing. I mean how can God also be Jesus AND the Holy Spirit? And who is the Holy Spirit anyway? How is He relevant in your life?
While I don’t have all the answers (I don’t think anyone does), I can tell you that I’ve received more clarity over the last several years and can I just say, I love, love, love The Spirit and how He works in our life!

God loves for us is so big and unconditional that He not only sacrificed His Son for us (which is huge!), but He also gave us The Spirit, so we’re never left to get through life on our own.
If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever — The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you. John 14:15-17 AMPC
And that’s where the power of The Holy Spirit comes in!
I must admit, I get downright giddy over The Spirit.
Without Him, we have no way of getting through the hard times — the trials, challenges, worry and pain.
In fact, it’s through the Holy Spirit that we are set free!
I have no doubt that at one time or another, you’ve wanted freedom from something.
Perhaps you’re even struggling right now. Maybe you’re in a situation that’s left you feeling you’re doomed to live the rest of your life in this pain.
In The Power of Praying for Your Adult Children, Stormie Omartian states, “When we are in the presence of God’s Holy Spirit, we are set free from the things that bind us, blind us, hold us back, and keep us from becoming all we were created to be!”
BOOM!
Freedom from pain can’t happen apart from God.
Now, the “Lord” I’m referring to is the Holy Spirit, and wherever he is Lord, there is freedom. We can all draw close to him with the veil removed from our faces. And with no veil we all become like mirrors who brightly reflect the glory of the Lord Jesus. We are being transfigured into his very image as we move from one brighter level of glory to another. And this glorious transfiguration comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 tpt
I’m often asked, how am I able to enjoy life when I’m down with migraines on a weekly basis. How can I have peace when my life seems to revolve around a chronic illness?
Truthfully, I didn’t enjoy life for a very long time. In fact, it wasn’t until I discovered the power behind The Holy Spirit that everything in my life changed.
And you can enjoy this life too, my friend!
Because of CHRIST’S WORK ON THE CROSS AND thROUGH THE spirit…
- We’ve been given complete authority over Satan.
“Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.” Luke 10:19 AMPC
This means there’s nothing Satan can do to you because no matter how big your trials seem, our God is bigger.
Can I get an amen?!
- We’re given the ability to handle our trials through The Spirit.
“Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.” Luke 12:11-12 GW
Our trials may be difficult, but they will not do any lasting damage. In fact, we serve a God who won’t waste a moment of our pain and will bring blessings in and through the challenges.
These aren’t just words or platitudes, my friend. They’re truth!
- We don’t have to know what to pray in the tough times because The Spirit will go to God on our behalf.
“So because our hope is set on what is yet to be seen, we patiently keep on waiting for its fulfillment. And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.” Romans 8:25-26 TPT
Our bodies may be fragile, but they house a great power — the Holy Spirit.
And we don’t just house Him, we’re given that power through Him!
“Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 AMPC
