Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold[c] this dark world in bondage.

A journey into Human Trafficking
In episode #37 of A Faithful God Podcast, I’m digging into some myths about human trafficking and what we can do to help stop it.
At the beginning of the year, when God laid the word obedience on my heart, I knew He was calling me to something that probably wouldn’t be easy.
In fact, when He led me to Psalm 32:8-9, it gave me even more clarity that I was about to embark on something so far out of my comfort zone, something that would require me to step out and just follow Him.
I hear the Lord saying, “I will stay close to you,
Psalm 32:8-9 TPT
instructing and guiding you along the pathway for your life.
I will advise you along the way
and lead you forth with my eyes as your guide.
So don’t make it difficult; don’t be stubborn
when I take you where you’ve not been before.
Don’t make me tug you and pull you along.
Just come with me!”
Over the last several years, I’ve felt a piercing in my heart when I would hear anything about human trafficking and although I don’t think there’s anyone in my life that has been trafficked, I’ve really felt a powerful stirring in me.
Well as only our amazing God does, He led me to some meetings to learn more about the many aspects of human trafficking.
And you know what?
There are a lot of myths surrounding this modern day slavery that many of us believe — including myself!
Common myths about Human Trafficking
Some of these myths include…
- It only happens in other countries.
- Prostitution is a choice.
- You only have to be concerned if you have a girl.
- Traffickers grab their victims quickly, throw them in a van and chain them in the basement.
On today’s show, I’m going to break down four myths surrounding human trafficking and what you can do to help.
This is a hard topic.
Although not every one is called to the mission field of human trafficking, I believe everyone should be aware of what’s happening so you can teach your children and grandchildren what to look for and how to prevent them from becoming a victim of this modern day slavery.
Human Trafficking is a business
According to the State of California, Department of Justice,
Human trafficking is among the world’s fastest growing criminal enterprises and is estimated to be a $150 billion-a-year global industry. It is a form of modern day slavery that profits from the exploitation of our most vulnerable populations.
Although it’s true there aren’t as many male victims in human trafficking, they are still part of the equation. Both as victims and in creating a demand for it.
Simply put, It’s a business.
And where there’s a demand, there’s a need for supply.
It’s important that young boys are raised in a way that honors women, so they don’t increase the demand for sex — such as watching pornography and purchasing sex later in life.
