self-care is not a luxury
In episode #36 of A Faithful God Podcast, I dig into the Bible to uncover whether self-care is an indulgence or something we truly need.
How many times have you thought, self-care is
- a luxury I can’t afford right now
- an indulgence that I don’t have time for
- sitting around eating bonbons on a beach somewhere
Or perhaps you’ve tried to carve a little time for yourself, but you can’t enjoy it because the guilt weighs you down.
Our bodies house a great power in the Holy Spirit, and since God expects us to be good stewards of everything He provides, it includes taking care of ourselves.
We can’t pour from an empty cup, and yet all too often, it’s exactly what we’re doing!
When we’re running around all day, trying to meet everyone else’s needs, it doesn’t take long, and we find ourselves bone dry!
Self-care should be an important part of our daily life, so we can be effective…
- In God’s Kingdom
- For our families
- In ministry
- In our jobs
It’s not a luxury, but a crucial component of walking close to God.
Join me for today’s show as we uncover why self-care is not an indulgence and how to stop feeling guilty about it!
