Need help growing closer to God? Grab this Refreshed Devotions for women to find the daily encouragement you need, help you grow closer to God, and strengthen your prayer life.
Life is full of twists and turns. Sometimes, it’s peaceful, and other times, not so much!
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that the only way through our hard times is to surrender to God and allow Him to carry us through.
But knowing it and feeling it are two different things, aren’t they?
And how do we get through those harsh seasons? How can we find peace in the middle of our pain?
The only way through, is to…
- stay in communication with God throughout the day
- get into The Word to uncover His truths and promises to combat the lies and tactics of the enemy
Although we know this, when we’re suffocating in our pain or feeling too exhausted to crack open the Bible, it’s tough to know where to begin.
And let’s face it, sometimes scripture is hard to understand!

Refreshed DevotionS for women
At a local craft show several years ago, my mom picked up some motivational cards from Cleeere Cherry Reaves, and I instantly fell in love!
I keep them on my desk for that dose of encouragement to keep me going!
So when I was given an opportunity to get my hands on Refreshed Devotional Guide by Reaves, I jumped at the chance!
Rich in wisdom and Scriptural application, each day of this daily devotional guides you to a deeper relationship with God.
Through intimate conversations, personal insight, and thought-provoking reflections, Reaves takes us to places in our hearts that we’ve never been before.
But don’t just take my word for it!
Let’s dive into a quick lesson from Refreshed Devotional Guide.
WOMEN’S Daily Devotion by Cleere Cherry Reaves
In John 8:1-30, we learn about Christ’s great mercy when the Pharisees brought an adulterous woman to Jesus.
They were trying to find a way to accuse Jesus, but instead, He turned their laws back on them to show how merciful He is to those who choose to follow Him.
6 But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.” John 8:6-11 ESV
As we see Christ’s unconditional love and compassion for this woman, Reaves writes,
“By focusing on the law, they completely missed the true meaning of God’s love and power…In my own life, there have been times when I tried to flip the mirror and focus on the sins of those in front of me. It felt easier. Self-preservation, or so I thought. However, not once did this prove to help me or them; it confined both of us to the rigidity of religion instead of the richness of relationship…His response to the Pharisees forces them to look in the mirror and realize the mercy they themselves have received. Seeing how Jesus responds to this woman confirms that as His people, we must never let religion keep us from seeing someone, speaking life into them, and extending mercy far greater than they deserve.”
Powerful right?
I mean, how many times have you judged someone for their sins, knowing that you, too, have fallen short?
Hey friend, no judgement here!
I’ve been on the wrong side of judgement far too many times to count!
SHORT Devotional Reflections
In Refreshed Devotional Guide, Reaves provides thought-provoking questions that get right to the heart of the matter.
They force us to look within and see how we can use scripture to grow more and more like Christ.
In this lesson, Reaves ask…
- Have you experienced times when your religion has gotten in the way of your ability to extend mercy in a relationship? How did you handle that?
Ugh! Talk about a truth bomb!
And…
- Has there been a time in your life when you have felt such judgement and condemnation? How did Jesus’ mercy help you move forward or experience healing?
Thinking back to the times when Jesus was my comforter, it helps me have that confident hope in the times when I’m struggling.
How about you?
MORNING DEVOTION AND PRAYER
Towards the end of each day’s devotion, Reaves provides a way to “communicate with love,” through prayers that nurture a deeper prayer life with God.
She shows us how to go before Him with bold confidence.
And it amazes me every time I show up and confidently ask God for something. He demonstrates His full glory and by providing the answers I need.
Devotional Scripture
At the end of every chapter, Reaves gives us a handful of Bible verses that accompany the day’s lesson and help to instill what we’re learning.
Like…
“Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. ‘Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:36-27 ESV
“He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.” Titus 3:5 ESV
Refreshed Devotional Guide Videos
Perhaps my favorite thing about this incredible Devotional Guide is the QR codes that come with many of the lessons.
They provide a video lesson from Cleere Cherry Reaves that give us deeper insight into the corresponding lessons.
I have to say, there’s just something about seeing someone “in person” that adds to the message.
