In today’s episode of A Faithful God Podcast, my guest, Ty Alexander, is joining me to share his journey through dialysis and trusting God in uncertain times.
It’s easy to trust God when everything is going right, but when we’re faced with the uncertainty of a frightening diagnosis, it’s an entirely different story.
And my guest in today’s show knows just how difficult it is when everything feels so out of control.

a journey to Trusting God
Ty shares his journey through dialysis and a kidney transplant and how frightening it was for him and his family. And although it left him exhausted and anxious, he still chose to lean into God.
He explains that the reason he was able to do this is because of the solid foundation he’d built on our Heavenly Father.
Ty has such a servant’s heart and it shows in every aspect of his life.
He teaches us that in order to experience the peace of God in uncertain times, we first have to have a relationship with Him.
And the way to begin that relationship is by,
- staying in constant communication with Him through prayer.
- showing up with a servant’s heart and attitude in all circumstances.
- getting into His Word to uncover the stories that teach us again and again just how faithful He is.
When we’ve laid that foundation, we can more easily see our loving and faithful Father.

Trusting God through uncertainty
Ty explains that when we make serving others the focus of our life, God uses our hard times to breathe life into others.
And when we show up with a servant’s heart in all circumstances, finding peace in the midst of the pain becomes a by-product of the way we’re showing up.
He shares the many trials he’s experienced throughout his life and what God did to intervene.
Ty talks about the importance of prayer and how “faith without prayer is like a boat without an oar.”
He also states that although it’s important for us to know God, it’s also important that God knows who we are by how we’re showing up in the world.
I have no doubt you’re going to love my conversation with Ty.
He has such a heart for Jesus, and for stewarding the gifts and talents he’s been given to make a difference in the lives around him.

HOW TO TRUST GOD THROUGH UNCERTAIN TIMES
getting help in uncertain times
As you already know, learning how to trust God in uncertain times isn’t easy.
We do all the right things, but then something happens to cut us off at the knees which sends us spiraling into overwhelm and panic.
If right you’re thinking, “Yes! That’s exactly what happens to me!” then I want you to know you’re not alone.
And it’s exactly what I teach in the Grow Your Faith Community.
In this growing community of women, we walk through the hard times together. We sit in the pain with each other. We give you the encouragement you need to keep going.
And most importantly, I teach you how to take God’s Word and apply it to your life, so when uncertainty and hard times come (because they will), you’ll be able to lean into God with a trusting heart.
This community isn’t always open for enrollment, so your best bet is to get on the waiting list here. That way I can send you a notification when the doors open.
That’s all for today, my friend. Be sure to check out these other great episodes before you go.
