Are you ready to create Easy DIY Vinyl Gifts for Your Sports Fans this year? Gifts that won’t leave you locked up in your craft room all season long?
This year, I’ve decided that just because I can make something from scratch, doesn’t mean that I should.
I have spent far too many hours over the years, crafting DIY gifts for my loved ones, but every project wound up taking far longer than I had planned.
By the time Christmas was over, my craft room looked like a tornado had gone through, I was worn out, and didn’t get to enjoy the season with my family.
Can you relate?

I quickly embraced my new rule and set out to create thoughtful gifts that I could create in under 30 minutes.
Woot, woot!
Since you’re here, I know your DIY-loving heart would like to do the same.
So, today I’m sharing some of my favorite gifts for the sports fan on your list, and I’m including 7 FREE SVG Cut Files to go along with it!
Let’s get started, shall we?

- Heat Press Tape
- Transfer Tape – I use Clear Contact Paper from Dollar Tree. It’s better than the name brand transfer papers and costs a lot less. Plus, it can be used multiple times and since it is clear and marked, you’ll have an easier time applying your designs.
- Free SVG Cut Files – This post includes 7 free SVG Cut Files that are located in our community library.
Simply subscribe to our newsletter below to get access to them along with all of our free resources.
All designs have been created so that there will be no extra bulk when layering your vinyl.
(These seven designs will download together in one zipped file from the community library, and are for personal use only. If you would like to make items to sell using the SVG files from Footprints of Inspirations, check out our commercial license options.)
TOOLS NEEDED
- Silhouette Cameo or Cricut Cutting Machine
- Cricut Weeding Tools (I prefer these over the Silhouette brand tools.)
- Cricut Cutting Mat (I also prefer these over the Silhouette brand mat.)
- Hat Press or Cricut Mini Press (For attaching Heat Transfer Vinyl to a Hat
- Heat Press or Cricut Easy Press
Personally, I prefer my heat press since it automatically applies the necessary pressure needed for heat transfer vinyl.
However, if you are lacking the space, the Cricut Easy Press or your household iron will work. Make sure, however, that you are working on a hard stable surface so that you do not bend your ironing board. (Ask me how I learned that!)
Now let’s create some gifts for your favorite sports fan!
TAILGATING
Every avid tailgater needs a thermos for keeping their hot beverages warm throughout the game.
Add Text in Silhouette Studio or Cricut Design Space, apply in their favorite permanent vinyl color, and you’ve got a gift they will love.
Use one of the free Sports Fan SVG cut files or add your own design and give it to the sports fan on your list who likes to have their own drinks for the game.
While we are talking favorite beverages, if your favorite sports fan loves beer, then they are going to love getting a personalized beer bottle tumbler from you.
If you’ve sat in the bleachers for any length of time, then you know that every frequent game goer needs a stadium chair to save their back and hind parts!
Important tip: you want a stadium chair that allows for the back to be removed so that you can easily apply your heat transfer vinyl.
We use our blankets all year long.
They keep us warm at football games, give us a nice space to lay on at the beach or to sit on while we’re outside on the lawn.
They wash up well and are easy to personalize.
APPAREL
Grab some Heat Transfer Vinyl in your loved one’s favorite color and apply it to a t-shirt or sweatshirt that they’ll love to wear.
Every sports fan proudly wears his favorite team atop their head, so you can’t go wrong with a personalized hat.
Important note: Unless you have a hat press, the Cricut Mini-Press will work well for applying heat transfer vinyl to your hats.
Kitchen Wares
Apply your design using Glossy Permanent Vinyl and you’ve just made a very nice gift in under 10 minutes!
Pick up a pretty platter, add some Glossy Permanent Vinyl using one of the FREE Sports Fan SVG Cut Files and your loved one can take it to their game day party to share their scrumptious goodies.
The grill master or chef on your list will be anxious to whip up something delicious when they get to wear their new apron!
Use one of the free SVG cut files or create your own design to personalize their new gift!
